Credit intermediaries cannot receive money from clients

The Bank of Portugal issued an important alert this week: no credit intermediary is authorized to receive payments from consumers related to the celebration, execution, or early repayment of credit agreements.

The only exception is non-tied intermediaries, who can charge a fee for their services, but always communicated in advance and with a signed contract.

What this means for you

• At SCI Finance, you are not asked for any advance payment to process your credit.
• SCI Finance is duly registered with the Bank of Portugal and you can verify it at any time.
• If someone asks you for money to approve a loan, be suspicious. Talk to SCI Finance first.
