What if we gave you €650,000? There is one rule: you must buy a house!

There is only one rule: you must buy a house. Imagine you had €650,000 to buy a house, you couldn't invest it or save it, you really had to choose. Where would you buy?

Would you prefer Lisbon, with everything close by, even if that meant less space? Or would you cross the bridge looking for a bigger house?

In Almada, the same budget can open other possibilities: an extra bedroom, a garage, a balcony or simply more space, but there's another thing to consider: how much is your commuting time worth?

And what if we continue to Seixal or Amora? Moving a few kilometres away can allow you to look for a bigger, newer house or even put a new option on the table: "At this price… could we get a villa?"

More space seems tempting, but it can also mean more commuting, greater dependence on the car and more maintenance.

Now you really have to choose!

You have €650,000. Which option do you prefer?

    • A) Less space and living in Lisbon.
    • B) More space in Almada.
    • C) Look in Seixal, Amora or another area of the South Bank.
    • D) Move further away and look for a villa.

    Which would you choose?

Because the right house isn't necessarily the biggest. Location, commuting time, schools, family, outdoor space and lifestyle also count.

Two people with the same €650,000 can make completely different choices and both make sense. What would you do?

If we gave you €650,000 and you had to buy a house, where would you buy?
